Insured Items

For your family, have your home and properties insured now

For most, buying a house is a fulfillment of a long cherished dream. And yet, how many actually take that extra step to insure their homes against possible future damage.

Your Safety Net

Basically, insurance is spending money on something that may or may not happen. But it makes sense to insure property. So, how does it make sense?

A homeowner’s insurance provides damage protection for home and personal property from several possible sources. Don’t worry; this includes almost everything such as, fire, burglary, vandalism, lightning, storms, flooding, and more. Home insurance also means that you can get cover for accidents that may happen in your home.

And you know what? The premium you pay for home insurance is much lower than any other kind of insurance plans.

Picking the Right Stuff

However with many insurance options available, how do you pick the one that suits your needs the best?

Experts recommend to make a list of the valuables in the house. The next would be to make a list of potential risks that may cause loss or damage, for example, fire, flood, and theft. Determine which catastrophe is more likely happen to your home based on your lifestyle, location, circumstances, and etc. Imagine the possessions that are mainly at risk with the corresponding disastrous events. From there you will have a better idea of what insurance option to pick.

Clearing things up

You have to work and communicate well with the insurance company salesperson so you will have a definite idea of all the formalities that you will go through when a claim is to be referred.

There are also things that you should remember when purchasing home insurance. One, you should not over-insure your house as it definitely means higher premiums. Two, the more equipped and prepared you are for emergencies — such as having sprinklers and fire alarms installed – a potentially lower premium is often given. The sum that you pay on premiums will have tax benefits.

More and more people all around the world are joining the home insurance club. Globally, the market is growing gradually and with many banks making home insurance mandatory for housing loans approval, the numbers is likely even to rise even more.

Home Insurance isn’t just important, it’s required for buying a home if you’re getting a mortgage loan. Unless you’re buying with Cash, you NEED homeowners insurance. If you do own a home free and clear, then you absolutely want to protect it with home owners insurance.

Often time’s people feel that they can go without insurance because they feel that there is no need. With homeowners insurance you will need to purchase the insurance before you ever getting a mortgage loan. Even if it wasn’t required, I would still recommend homeowners insurance because it is a protection on your investment.

Things You should Know about Homeowners Insurance:

In the paragraph titled Safety Net you stated that insurance companies always cover flooding and this is not tru. Water damage is usually covered but “Flooding” is only included under a seperate policy. Check your deffinition between water damage and flooding

You are definitely right on “flooding” and “water damage” as two distinct scenarios. Flooding caused by weather-related occurrences like hurricanes aren’t typically covered. However, some insurance companies may still define water damage caused by plumbing flooding. This is one of the reasons why people should always inspect their policies.
